Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain networking for offices, remote field sites, and drilling assets. You will manage RF backhaul, Fortinet security, and Cisco IOS devices to ensure secure, reliable connectivity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4–7 years’ experience as a network engineer, preferably in oil & gas or industrial environments.
• RF backhaul technologies skills including path alignment, link budgeting, interference analysis.
• In-depth experience with Cisco IOS routers/switches (config/troubleshooting/upgrades).
• Hands-on Fortinet security appliances (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, VPN).
• Azure networking: vNets, VPN/ExpressRoute, security policies, hybrid solutions.
• Terraform for networking and cloud automation; familiarity with other IaC tools a plus.
• Strong routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, QoS, MPLS, NAT, VPNs.
• Enterprise networking & security concepts: 802.1x, Wi‑Fi, IP addressing, DNS/DHCP, firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support enterprise network solutions across offices, remote sites, drilling rigs, and plants.
• Implement and maintain RF backhaul networks for reliable remote connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls and Cisco IOS devices.
• Plan and deploy Azure networking solutions including ExpressRoute and VPN gateways.
• Develop IaC scripts using Terraform and related tools.
• Maintain LANs/WANs and remote access for OT, IoT, and business apps.
• Collaborate with SCADA, IT, and OT teams to ensure secure segmentation.
• Monitor performance and perform proactive maintenance; handle after-hours issues.
• Document network designs, configurations, and policies; ensure compliance.
• Implement network security best practices to protect sensitive data.
• Coordinate with vendors and field technicians for deployment.
• Participate in architecture reviews and continuous improvement.
