Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead evaluations of intermediate network systems for multisite connectivity in a retail and omnichannel environment. The role emphasizes low‑latency networks, security enhancements, and problem resolution.

The position is located in Springfield, MO and is not open to remote work; you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to enterprise architecture while maintaining high availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level is required.
• Experience enabling most situations and advising others (5–8 years).
• Management experience directing people and resources (1–3 years).

Responsibilities

• Drive advances in technologies and architectures to increase value of digital capabilities.
• Design and select storage, data center and client/server environments per best practices.
• Develop patterns and prototypes for digital products/services.
• Evaluate website/applications software and infrastructure improvements for users.
• Respond to user emails and monitor performance issues.
• Gather business requirements through interviews, analysis, and workshops.
• Mentor engineers on complex troubleshooting and on‑call incident response.
