Job summary

MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. seeks a senior network engineer to install, support, and optimize complex network and application delivery environments in a large organization. You will work on MPLS WAN, IPsec VPNs, DNS/DHCP services, and security systems using a broad set of enterprise tools.

The role requires extensive experience with Cisco and Check Point technologies, VMware virtualization, and HIPAA/SOX/PCI awareness. On-site at San Diego HQ with occasional non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and 8+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; 4 years SME in respective areas.
• Cisco CCNP or CCDP certification required.
• Check Point Certifications (CCSA) preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend packet captures.
• Solid networking and server virtualization know-how (VMware).
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOX and PCI requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs and supports MPLS WAN and IPsec VPNs.
• Contributes to network architecture design and DNS/DHCP support.
• Uses diagnostic tools to monitor and troubleshoot network and security systems.
• Implements disaster recovery procedures.
• Assists with selection and implementation of network, security, and system infrastructure.
• Documents acceptance test failures and coordinates with vendors to fix defects.
• Collaborates with network engineering and IT Infrastructure teams on projects.
