Job summary

CSCI Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support our client's Engineering Support Services program at Pearl Harbor, HI.

This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration once per week with opportunities for travel as needed to maintain and optimize a large-scale network across multiple sites. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructures, work across Cisco-based environments, and ensure interoperability within DISN networks.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in LAN/WAN engineering support, Network Administration, and WAN Administration within both classified and unclassified environments.
  • Expertise in LAN/WAN protocols such as BGP, MPLS, and LDP, with experience in a service provider environment.
  • Active Secret clearance with SSBI or Top-Secret clearance.
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (Category IAT Level III), such as CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional-Enterprise (CCNP-E) certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the engineering, design, and maintenance of a campus-wide CISCO LAN plant.
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of enterprise network solutions across multiple sites (200+ locations).
  • Plan, design, and deploy technology refreshes for the enterprise network.
  • Conduct lab assessments for DISN Services ensuring proper connectivity and interoperability between WAN, IOEE/IOSEE, and NOCs.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability of WAN, IOEE/IOSEE, and DISN equipment and services.
  • Plan, track, and document implementation tasks and network deployments.
  • Create and maintain configuration artifacts (maps, designs, test plans, reports, device configs).
  • Monitor tasks, projects, work orders, and incidents to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop technical specifications for simple to moderately complex network problems.

CSCI is on the hunt for a dynamic Senior Network Engineer to join our client's Engineering Support Services program in Pearl Harbor, HI. Responsibilities
  • Network Design & Engineering: Provide subject matter expertise in the engineering, design, and maintenance of a corporate, campus-wide CISCO LAN plant featuring Gigabit switching and routing to both internal and external networks
  • Enterprise Network Solutions: Support the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of enterprise network solutions across multiple sites (over 200 locations)
  • Technology Refresh Support: Play an active role in the planning, design, and deployment of technology refreshes for the enterprise network
  • Laboratory Assessments: Conduct lab assessments for both classified and unclassified DISN Services, ensuring proper connectivity and interoperability between WAN, IOEE/IOSEE, and DISA's NOCs (Network Operation Centers)
  • Interoperability & Connectivity: Ensure the seamless interoperability of WAN, IOEE/IOSEE, and DISN network equipment and services
  • Implementation & Task Management: Plan, track, and document implementation tasks, ensuring the successful deployment of network solutions
  • Configuration & Documentation: Create and maintain configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance procedures
  • Project & Incident Management: Monitor the completion of assigned tasks, projects, work orders, and incidents to ensure timely resolution
  • Specification Development: Develop technical specifications for simple to moderately complex network problems and solutions
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in LAN/WAN engineering support, Network Administration, and WAN Administration within both classified and unclassified environments
  • Expertise in LAN/WAN protocols such as BGP, MPLS, and LDP, with experience in a service provider environment
  • Solid background in network design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a multi-vendor environment
  • Proficiency in device configuration for both wired and wireless technologies, as well as voice and video technologies
  • Active Secret clearance with SSBI or Top-Secret clearance
  • Valid U.S. Passport for potential OCONUS travel
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (Category IAT Level III), such as CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional-Enterprise (CCNP-E) certification or equivalent
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN technologies and associated software and hardware equipment
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple assigned projects and report on status and implementation plans
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Preferred certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
  • Ability to obtain Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a Federal agency
  • Department of War, etc. experience is a plus!
