Apex Systems is seeking a Network Security Engineer in Plano, TX (Hybrid) to design, implement, and support enterprise network security solutions. You will translate business requirements into secure technical designs, manage firewall and proxy configurations, and collaborate across architecture, engineering, and client teams.

The role requires 5–10 years in network/security roles, hands-on Fortinet/Check Point experience, and familiarity with content inspection technologies.

Qualificações

• 5–10 years of experience in Network Services or Security.
• Hands-on firewall experience with Fortinet and Check Point.
• Experience with proxy/Content Filtering infrastructure.
• Experience with Radware/Alteon/FireEye content inspection.
• Knowledge of Kerberos, LDAP, SSO, and AD.

This role supports service request fulfillment while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security policies, and operational procedures. The engineer will translate business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions and execute changes in accordance with established ITIL and Change Management practices.Key Responsibilities* Manage and fulfill network security service requests across firewall, proxy, and malware/content filtering platforms.* Analyze incoming requests to understand business and technical requirements, prioritize delivery dates, and schedule/execute changes.* Assist in translating business requirements into technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.* Create, modify, and implement firewall rules, NAT rules, object groups, proxy policies, and related network security configurations.* Perform design validation, peer reviews, and pre-work in non-production environments.* Represent and facilitate requests through Enterprise Change Management processes.* Support incident resolution and service restoration through appropriate configuration changes.* Collaborate with architecture, engineering, network operations, and clients on design requirements and production support transitions.* Act as a subject matter expert for network security technologies.* Contribute to automation, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required Qualifications**Experience:** 5-10 years of experience in Network Services, Network Security, Infrastructure Engineering, or related technical disciplines.**Technical Skills:*** Hands-on experience with firewall technologies such as Fortinet and Check Point.* Experience managing Web Content Filtering/Proxy infrastructure in forward and reverse proxy configurations.* Experience supporting network security technologies including firewalls, content inspection, and malware inspection.* Ability to add, modify, and delete firewall rules, NAT rules, and object groups.* Advanced experience managing content inspection/delivery technologies such as Radware, Alteon, or FireEye.* Knowledge of authentication and directory protocols such as Kerberos, LDAP, IWA, SSO, and Active Directory.* Strong understanding of network-based technologies including LAN, WAN, routing, and switching.* Familiarity with Python, Cisco, and CyberSecurity principles.**Professional Skills:*** Customer-facing communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.* Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to manage engagements with multiple project tracks and teams.* Firm understanding of IT Service Management, including Request, Incident, Change, and Problem Management.* Leadership qualities including a self-starter mindset, ownership, accountability, and organization.Preferred Qualifications* Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Check Point CCTA/CCSE, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE.* Professional certifications in network security like CISSP, CCSP, or CEH.* Experience with Bluecoat Management Center, ProxySG, McAfee Web Gateway, Netskope, or F5 SSLO.* Skills in scripting and automation, including Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.* Experience working in Agile environments.* Experience within financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.* Familiarity with technologies such as Splunk, WAN, MAN, LAN, DDI, and Load Balancing.* ITIL certification. *Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
