Job summary

Prominent Global Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer who specializes in routing and switching to serve as the senior technical authority for the enterprise network. This role drives strategic design, improves security, scalability and performance across core, distribution, and data center interconnects.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years’ experience, a current IAT Level II or higher certification, and proven leadership of large, complex routing and switching projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 12+ years preferred.
• Current IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ or CISSP).
• Expert-level hands-on experience designing, engineering, and troubleshooting enterprise routing and switching infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise routing and switching architecture across core, distribution, access, WAN edge, and data center interconnects.
• Define routing architecture and policy standards for BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
• Define Layer 2 and high-availability architecture, including VLANs, spanning-tree, link aggregation, VRF, multicast, and QoS.
• Evaluate current network architecture, identify gaps, estimate effort, assess risk, and develop practical engineering plans.
• Provide specifications for architecture, evaluate emerging technologies, and perform needs assessments for design/investment decisions.
• Enforce configuration standards, design patterns, and baselines for engineers.
• Lead strategic projects from concept to operations with planning, execution, validation, and transition to operations.
• Develop and maintain implementation/cutover plans, rollback procedures, and change documentation for mission-critical changes.
• Lead modernization efforts including IPv4/IPv6 transition and software-defined networking adoption.
