Job summary

Rackspace Technology seeks an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design and implement enterprise-scale networks across data centers, including Cisco ACI, SDA, and security fabrics. You will lead troubleshooting, design for high availability, and mentor peers. Remote role with Seattle-area travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities include design, implementation planning, and automation using Python and Ansible to ensure policy consistency across the enterprise network and security fabric.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise network design, deployment, and upgrade.
• Experience with TCP/IP, OSI, and switching technologies.
• Strong skills in BGP/OSPF design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Expertise in Cisco ACI and SD-Access fabric design.
• Knowledge of network security architecture and NAC concepts.
• Working knowledge of multi-vendor equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Brocade).

Responsibilities

• Designs scalable, resilient network solutions across routing, switching, fabric, and security.
• Leads complex troubleshooting including routing protocols and firewall policy conflicts.
• Architects and maintains Cisco ACI and SDA fabric environments.
• Configures BGP/OSPF for multi-site architectures and ensures redundancy.
• Maintains high-availability switching infrastructures and VXLAN/EVPN segmentation.
• Configures Palo Alto firewalls and security policies.
• Manages NAC policies and device compliance using Forescout or Clearpass.
• Mentors engineers and participates in on-call rotations.
• Drives automation and IaC pipelines (Python, Ansible) for policy deployment.
