Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for Washington, DC, on-site under a long-term contract. The role focuses on Cisco-based networking, data center infrastructure, security, and high availability across enterprise networks.

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience, deep BGP/OSPF expertise, and hands-on Cisco NX-OS/IOS-XE, Nexus/Catalyst, plus familiarity with SolarWinds and hybrid cloud networking. U.S. citizenship and ability to pass public trust screening required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience managing enterprise-grade routers and switches in large data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain internal and external network infrastructure supporting critical business applications.
• Support day-to-day network operations and ongoing initiatives, including routing and switching troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and operational support.
• Develop and implement new network designs and improvements to enhance performance, resiliency, and scalability.
• Plan and execute network upgrades in collaboration with internal teams.
• Proactively monitor and analyze network health using enterprise monitoring and management platforms.
• Participate in cloud migration and hybrid network initiatives.
• Ensure network availability, security, and compliance with enterprise standards.
