Job summary

itD is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and support LAN/WAN/WLAN across corporate and retail environments in San Francisco. You will collaborate with the Director, Network Engineering to deliver secure, scalable network solutions from endpoints to cloud data centers.

The role emphasizes hands-on architecture, incident triage, automation, and documentation. Strong experience with Aruba, Fortinet/Palo Alto, and cloud networking is required, with a proactive, customer-focused

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall network technology experience
• 3+ years in networking and security in a retail environment
• 3+ years' experience in Layer 7 Firewalls (Fortinet, PAN)
• 2+ years hands-on cloud networking (Azure)
• Aruba wireless experience required
• Aruba ClearPass experience helpful (802.1X, Radius, AAA)
• Automation and GenAI experience a big plus
• Experience scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or VBScript)
• Load balancer experience (F5 and others)
• Experience with enterprise LLMs via APIs (OpenAI, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure
• Engineer and troubleshoot network security systems including SSL VPN, Palo Alto, Fortinet
• Provide end-to-end engineering from endpoints to cloud data centers
• Lead triage for high-severity incidents and post-incident reporting
• Use automation/scripting for repeated tasks
• Use Splunk to analyze trends and alert issues
• Create and maintain network documentation
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with application owners to support deployments
• Attend internal practice meetings and contribute to thought leadership
