Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking a senior network engineer in New York to own the systems infrastructure from day one, overseeing the design, implementation, and operation of our network across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will lead end-to-end network projects, manage routing, switching, firewalls, and security practices, and collaborate closely with the broader infra team to scale our high-performance platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 5–10 years in network or network security roles.
• Strong traditional networking chops: routing, switching, firewalls.
• Proficient in scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid grasp of security best practices.
• Excellent communication and project management instincts.
• Familiarity with AWS or public cloud is a plus.
• Financial services background helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead network projects end-to-end across integrations and infra initiatives.
• Design, implement, and support network environment across layers.
• Own routing, switching, and firewall systems.
• Build out and expand cloud networking (AWS).
• Develop scripting to drive operational efficiency.
• Set and evolve network security best practices.
• Collaborate across the wider infra team.
