Job summary

Independent Software, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer Level 3 to design, deploy, and sustain Cisco and Arista network infrastructure supporting complex environments. Role includes lab work, remote and in-person support, and occasional travel.

The position emphasizes architecture for new systems, upgrades, and modernization toward containerized and cloud-based solutions, with on-call responsibilities and travel as needed. A TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus 10 years of network engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of network engineering experience
• 16 years of network engineering experience in lieu of a degree with relevant certs

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy, and sustain Cisco and Arista network infrastructure
• Support network design and architecture for new systems and environments
• Configure and test new systems, upgrades, and network configurations in lab environments
• Support remote and in person fielding of new network equipment and capabilities
• Provide ongoing network support, including firewall and crypto equipment
• Troubleshoot complex network, connectivity, and infrastructure issues
• Support modernization toward containerized and cloud-based environments
• Track and resolve issues using JIRA or similar ticketing systems
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and technical records
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to ensure continuity
• Participate in on call support and occasional travel as required
