Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team focused on evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale network project. The role covers wired and wireless infrastructure, hardware and software assessment, testing, vulnerability assessments, and QA.

You will interface with government personnel, internal stakeholders, and vendors, delivering design guidance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or related field.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent.
• BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau, RF scanners, and Wireshark.
• Strong knowledge of Layer2 switching and Layer3 routing protocols (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP).
• Knowledge of network security (802.1x, MAC auth, ACLs, RADIUS, CA).
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, enhance, and maintain a large-scale network project (wired, wireless, hardware & software).
• Design and implement network infrastructure for wireless and wired environments.
• Consult on hardware/software requirements; conduct system testing, vulnerability assessments, and QA.
• Interface with state/local government personnel, stakeholders, SMEs, and vendors.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer on best practices and operation of network products.
