Job summary

Maximus is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to support enterprise network operations in a demanding, 24/7 environment. The role requires hands-on routing and switching expertise with Cisco devices, plus CCNA or higher certification.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in network operations, experience with monitoring tools, and strong incident-resolution skills. The position entails documentation, change management, and ensuring high availability across a large-scale network infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, IT, CS or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network operations roles
• CCNA or higher certification (CCNP preferred)
• Experience in enterprise network operations in a 24/7 environment
• Hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies (Cisco routers/switches)
• Experience with network monitoring tools and proactive performance analysis
• Experience documenting network incidents, configurations, and changes

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for enterprise network operations, including 24x7x365 monitoring, triage, dispatch, and restoration
• Troubleshoot routing and switching across LAN/WAN/Wireless/Voice/Video environments
• Respond to and resolve network incidents, coordinating restoration for multiple failures
• Perform break-fix support, provisioning, and service request fulfillment
• Maintain and update network documentation, configurations, diagrams, and procedures
• Coordinate with Network Architects and Network Services Lead during high-severity incidents
• Support change management and governance processes for network changes
• Contribute to high availability and reliability of large-scale network infrastructure
