Job summary

PingWind, Inc. seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, operate, and sustain secure enterprise networks at a government site in Quantico, VA. You will support LAN, WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, UC services, and NIPR/SIPR infrastructure, leading complex troubleshooting and change activities.

Required: 5+ years in government networks, expert Cisco and Palo Alto skills, and a Bachelor’s degree. Active TS/SCI is preferred; CCNP/CCIE or CISSP are desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT/CS/related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance preferred or required as indicated.
• 5+ years in government or contractor network operations or IT systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure LAN/WAN and UC services.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco devices and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Monitor availability, performance, and security; lead complex incident resolution.
• Validate patches and configurations in test environments before production.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring on network modernization.

Location: Quantico, VA (Government site)
Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Certifications: Network+ CE or CCNA (minimum); CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP preferred
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent specialized experience may be considered.
Required Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of Government or contractor experience in which network management, network operations, or IT systems engineering was a primary duty.

Position Description

Ailani Wind Joint Venture is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, operate, and sustain secure enterprise network and unified communications services. The engineer supports LAN, WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, firewall, monitoring, NIPR, SIPR, AFSCI, and video teleconference infrastructure. This senior position leads complex troubleshooting and change activities, supports AFCYBER and USCYBERCOM taskings, and validates network patches, software, and design changes in test environments before operational implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:

• Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure LAN, WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, wireless, and unified communications solutions.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and associated network-management platforms.
• Configure and sustain Palo Alto or comparable next-generation firewall services and security policies.
• Monitor network availability, capacity, performance, events, and security conditions and lead resolution of complex incidents.
• Troubleshoot NIPR, SIPR, and AFSCI connectivity and coordinate with Government and enterprise service providers through restoration.
• Support identity-based access, software-defined networking, Zero Trust, and micro- and macro-segmentation initiatives.
• Operate and maintain VTC and unified communications infrastructure and coordinate resolution of service-impacting issues.
• Execute applicable USCYBERCOM and AFCYBER orders, taskings, directives, and network changes within required timelines.
• Maintain and use TIC/DEV or comparable test environments to validate patches, software, configurations, and network changes before production deployment.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, baselines, implementation plans, test results, procedures, and change records.
• Provide technical leadership, peer review, mentoring, root-cause analysis, and recommendations for network modernization and resilience.

Required Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking, routing, switching, firewalls, and network-management technologies.
• Expert-level knowledge of Palo Alto technologies, software-defined networking, identity-based access, and micro- and macro-segmentation.
• Knowledge of DAF 17- and 33-series guidance, applicable maintenance technical orders, USCYBERCOM/AFCYBER processes, and relevant NIST guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot secure classified and unclassified enterprise networks.
• Ability to lead risk-controlled network changes, testing, incident response, problem resolution, and technical documentation.
• Strong technical leadership, customer communication, collaboration, and engineering judgment.

Desired Qualifications

• Current CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP certification.
• Experience supporting DAF or AFOSI networks, VTC services, and mission enclaves.
• Experience with network automation, configuration management, observability, and performance analytics.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust network access and segmentation in classified environments.

Salary Range

$87K -120K
