Role Description The Senior Network Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Escambia County, FL, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the county’s network infrastructure to support reliable and resilient operations across multiple departments. Functioning as a team lead with day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and related hardware; monitoring network performance; VOIP, and resolving complex connectivity and performance issues. The role involves planning and executing network upgrades, ensuring high availability and scalability, and collaborating with Information & Technology staff and other stakeholders to support departmental needs. The Senior Network Engineer also helps develop and enforce network security policies, participates in incident response and disaster recovery planning, and documents network architecture, standards, and procedures. Reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
