Job summary

IMPACT Technology Recruiting seeks a hands-on Network Engineer for a permanent role in Phoenix, AZ. You will implement, troubleshoot, and support Cisco routing and switching, firewalls, and Meraki deployments in production environments. The position is hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) with local candidates preferred.

Direct Hire / W2 only; some travel to deploy office networks. CCNA/CCNP preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Experience with BGP, EIGRP, and enterprise networking protocols.
• Meraki wireless, switching, and/or SD-WAN experience.
• Palo Alto firewall experience preferred.
• Experience with Cisco Firepower, Juniper, or other enterprise firewall platforms.
• Network security fundamentals and a security-minded approach.
• Experience implementing, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting production networks.
• Office deployments experience and working with ISPs/vendors.
• Ability to review network requirements and determine equipment and capacity.
• Experience with cabling, network closets, access points, switches, routers, and physical network infrastructure.
• CCNA/CCNP preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement, deploy, troubleshoot, and support production networks.
• Assist with office/network deployments and cabling as needed.
• Review network requirements and size equipment accordingly.
• Coordinate with ISPs and third-party vendors.
• Maintain secure, scalable network infrastructure across sites.

Top Technical Skills

• Cisco Routing & Switching – strong hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network infrastructure
• Firewalls / Network Security – Palo Alto highly preferred; Cisco Firepower, Juniper, or comparable enterprise firewall experience considered
• Wireless / Meraki – hands-on Cisco Meraki experience strongly preferred

CCNA or CCNP is preferred but not required. Hands-on production experience is more important than certifications alone.

This is a hands-on engineering position with a strong emphasis on implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and support, with some network design responsibilities.
