Zions Bancorporation in Midvale, Utah, seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable, secure networks across data centers, branches, and cloud environments. The role emphasizes modernizing the network and advancing automation.

You will mentor peers, participate in on-call rotation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with VXLAN/EVPN on Cisco Nexus, BGP/OSPF, and cloud-managed networking (SD-WAN, Meraki).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
• 8+ years in a network engineering role.
• Significant experience designing, implementing, and supporting datacenter networks with Spine-Leaf topologies using VXLAN and EVPN on Cisco Nexus.
• Strong routing knowledge (BGP/OSPF).
• Experience with cloud-managed networks including SD-WAN, switches, and wireless (Cisco Meraki preferred).
• Automation experience using Python, Ansible, Terraform.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Network Engineer will:

• Design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions across data centers, branches, and cloud environments.
• Lead or participate in the evaluation and implementation of new networking technologies and tools.
• While collaborating with peers, develop and establish long-term objectives and modernization efforts for the network infrastructure.
• Develop and contribute to automations efforts for critical and reoccurring tasks within the team.
• Mentor other members of the team and provide technical assistance to cross-functional teams.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical incidents.

Requirements:

• Candidate MUST work in-office at Zions Tech Center in Midvale, UT
• 8 or more years in a network engineering role
• Significant experience in designing, implementing, and supporting datacenter networks in Spine-Leaf topologies, leveraging VXLAN and EVPN with Cisco Nexus infrastructure.
• Significant experience with advanced routing configurations, with special attention to BGP and OSPF.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting, cloud-managed network solutions which include SD-WAN, switches, and wireless. Special attention to those with Cisco Meraki experience.
• Experience in leveraging scripting languages and automation to simplify and support complex networks. This can include the use of Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Understanding of a wide range of infrastructure technologies like virtualization, containerization, load balancing, DDoS protection, security.
• Industry network certifications such as CCIE and CCNP.
• Experience in designing and supporting cloud environments, with particular attention in GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance tools such as SolarWinds, Grafana with Prometheus, Wireshark, and similar.
