Base pay range

$55.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an Sr. Network Engineer for an on-site role in Johns Creek, GA. The right candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco routing and switching, Palo Alto firewalls, and SD-WAN technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
Configure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access, and Strata security platforms.
Design and maintain routing and switching architectures (Cisco-based), including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
Support SD-WAN implementations and contribute to modernizing WAN infrastructure.
Integrate new technologies into the existing network to improve efficiency and performance.
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, connectivity, and configuration issues quickly and accurately.
Monitor network performance and conduct proactive tuning and maintenance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, OT, and business teams to ensure alignment with operational goals.
Stay up to date on emerging trends in network architecture, industrial networking, and security best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent experience.
Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering with a focus on routing, switching, and security.
Strong proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls; experience with Prisma and Strata preferred.
Solid experience with Cisco routers and switches, network segmentation, and SD-WAN.
Familiarity with manufacturing/industrial/OT environments is highly desirable.
Deep understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, VPN, BGP, OSPF, etc.
Demonstrated ability to think outside the box, troubleshoot creatively, and solve technical problems independently.
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications:

CCNP strongly preferred; CCNA with extensive experience will be considered.
Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE) are a plus.
Additional credentials such as CompTIA Network+ or JNCIA are welcomed.
