WHY YOU WANT TO WORK FOR DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS:

Imagine working for a company with over 75 years of stability that still moves with the agility of a startup. At Direct Communications, we don’t just provide internet; we connect rural communities to the world. We are looking for people who share our obsession with Integrity, Growth, Respect, Sustainability, Strategic Decision Making and Community.

We believe that if we take care of you, you will take care of our customers. That is why we offer an industry-leading benefits package that includes Health, Dental, and Vision insurance for just 50¢ per paycheck. We also provide a 401(k) with a massive 6% match, generous paid time off, tuition reimbursement for your personal and professional growth, and financial wellness support. This is more than a job; it is a place where you can build a future.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Are you a technical strategist ready to design the future of rural connectivity? At Direct Communications, we don’t just provide internet; we build the digital lifelines that empower rural communities.

We are looking for a high-ownership Network Engineer who is hungry to solve complex problems, humble enough to put the team and customer first, and smart about how they navigate technical and interpersonal challenges.

What you will do:

  • Architect & Innovate: Take the lead on strategic planning, design, and implementation of wired, wireless, and unified communication services.

  • Optimize Infrastructure: Install and manage LAN/WAN and Telco/ISP equipment, ensuring our core network is resilient and high-performing.

  • Solve Complex Problems: Use rigorous logic to proactively resolve system issues before they impact our customers.

  • Collaborate & Lead: Act as the primary technical point of contact for vendors and provide expert-level support for special circuit configurations.

  • Drive Results: Manage VMs, server support, and network security with a relentless focus on quality and efficiency.

WHO YOU ARE:

We are looking for more than just a resume; we are looking for the right person. You will fit perfectly here if you are:

  • Hungry for Results: You are self-motivated, energy-driven, and prioritize administrative functions and documentation as highly as technical fixes.

  • People Smart: You possess high emotional intelligence. You are diplomatic and patient, capable of diffusing high-tension situations and building rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

  • Humble & Collaborative: You define success collectively. You are willing to jump in and assist your colleagues because you know that we win as a team.

  • A Strategic Thinker: You make quality decisions based on analysis and wisdom, looking beyond the obvious to find the root cause of the issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent experience); CCNA or CCNP certifications are a significant plus.

  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience supporting complex LAN/WAN and Telecommunications networks.

  • Specialized Knowledge: Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, DWDM, TCP/IP, VLANs, and FTTH. Familiarity with MPLS, Segment Routing, and EVPN is a major plus.

  • Certifications: CCNA or CCNP preferred.

  • The Right Mindset: You pick up technical concepts quickly, communicate professionally under pressure, and never walk away until a problem is resolved.

THE BENEFITS (The Full Package):

We invest in you so you can invest in your future.

  • Unbeatable Health Coverage: Health/Dental/Vision Insurance for 50¢ per paycheck.

  • Retirement: 401(k) with 6% Company matching.
