Join our dynamic team at Direct Communications, where we have spent over 75 years connecting rural communities with exceptional broadband and cutting-edge solutions—ranging from mobile services and high-end managed routers to Arlo security systems and outdoor Wi-Fi. We offer AMAZING benefits, including comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for just $0.50 per paycheck, telehealth services, preventative wellness programs, up to a 6% 401(k) match, company-paid life insurance and short-term disability, generous paid time off, 10 observed holidays, and personal and professional tuition reimbursement programs!

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality broadband and managed network services directly to our rural customer base. In this role, you will be responsible for field operations, hardware installation, troubleshooting, and delivering exceptional service across our product suite, including managed routers, camera security, and outdoor wireless systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Installation & Service: Perform field installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting for residential and business broadband accounts, including running cables, wiring jacks, and provisioning equipment.
  • Advanced Solutions Deployment: Set up and optimize high-end managed routers, Arlo indoor and outdoor security cameras, and extended outdoor Wi-Fi coverage solutions.
  • Customer Empowerment: Educate customers on product features, helping them seamlessly connect their devices (e.g., cell phones, tablets, smart home systems) while building trust and long-lasting community relationships.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional technical teams and help desks to diagnose and resolve complex network or signal issues efficiently.
  • Administrative Excellence: Complete daily field documentation, work orders, and inventory tracking with care, precision, and accuracy.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (OUR IDEAL TEAM PLAYER)
  • Humble & Team-First Mindset: You put the team and customer success ahead of personal ego, freely sharing credit and owning mistakes.
  • Driven & Self-Motivated (Hungry): You possess an internal drive to do standard-setting work, proactively seeking out tasks without needing constant oversight.
  • People-Smart & Empathetic: You possess strong interpersonal skills, listening well, communicating with respect, and remaining calm and helpful in high-pressure situations.
  • Technical Agility: Quick to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving environments, and apply sound logic to troubleshooting.
  • Core Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (technical background preferred); valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screenings.
WORK SCHEDULE & PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS
  • Schedule: Regular hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Overtime and participation in an on-call rotation (weekends/holidays) may be required to resolve outages and ensure network reliability for our community.
  • Travel: Local day travel required throughout the service footprint.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry 35-50 lbs frequently (50+ lbs occasionally); climb ladders; work outdoors in various weather conditions; and handle repetitive bending, stooping, and reaching.
COMPENSATION
