Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking a Senior Inventory Placement Analyst to optimize how inventory is positioned across our ~50-node distribution network, shaping the platform’s demand-weighted cohort logic and DC placement policy. The role requires strong financial modeling, deep supply chain analytics, and the ability to translate data into actionable network decisions that lower costs and improve service.

The position offers a hybrid remote work option with travel about 25% to DCs and plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI with ability to build analytical models from source data.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to Distribution Centers and Plants.

Responsibilities

• Own the customer and inventory placement analytical function, including demand-by-DC modeling and cohort framework.
• Produce placement KPIs for weekly and monthly reporting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Planning, Operations, and IT to align inbound receipt plans with demand signals.
• Facilitate the movement of customers to/from new/closing DCs from the capacity perspective.
• Support the Sr. Manager/Director in developing analytical standards and data pipelines for inbound placement.
• Support lease renewal workstreams across medical distribution and global products businesses.
• Identify opportunities to reduce fixed costs in warehouse footprint across the supply chain.
• Provide consultation on network flows and supply chain design to Senior Leadership with quantitative impact.
• Mentor Analysts and Senior Analysts on project plans and executive communication.
