Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Network Defense Engineer to design and implement telemetry collection systems, providing total visibility into traffic and adversary behaviors. The role focuses on translating threat intelligence into actionable countermeasures and requires deep network protocol expertise.

Qualifications

• Must have DoD 8570 IAT II certification
• CCNA certification required
• DoD TS/SCI clearance desired

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate advanced network telemetry detection mechanisms to ensure comprehensive visibility across the enterprise.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for identifying, analyzing, and characterizing complex network-based cyber events and anomalous traffic.
• Develop and test network-based countermeasures and active defense strategies to detect and disrupt adversary operations.
• Advise on enterprise security design and mitigations for network defense.
• Automate ingestion of threat intelligence into sensor grids to build proactive detection pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging defense technologies and perform PoC testing to transition capabilities to production.
