Job summary

Long View Systems seeks a Senior Network Consultant for its Integrated Global Services group in Houston. The role focuses on designing and delivering cutting-edge network solutions for diverse clients, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and optimization.

You will engage with clients and internal stakeholders to assess needs, propose design changes, and ensure successful implementation across hybrid environments. This is a client-facing, consultative role within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT with network architecture design and deployment.
• Experience with networking and security.
• Experience working with Azure, Azure AI services, AWS, GCP and ChatGPT.
• Ability to provide ongoing support, maintenance, and training on implemented systems.
• Ability to perform network assessments and design recommendations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve network issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop network technology solutions, considering business and technical requirements, sizing, existing infrastructure, data protection, security, governance and recovery objectives.
• Design and/or implement standard or custom technical solutions.
• Participate in operational escalations to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware/software/network problems; replace defective components when needed.
• Implement network and system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Create documentation (conceptual/ logical/ physical design, BOMs, as‑built diagrams, knowledge transfer materials, FAQs, transition to operations information).
• Gather data on customer needs to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate network requirements.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations; determine hardware or software requirements.

We are looking for an energetic and client-orientated Senior Network Consultantfor our Integrated Global Services branch to be based out of ourHoustonbranch. You will be a member of our Service Delivery team and work on multiple projects with various clients. You will build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, while providing consultancy services for the design and implementation of industry leading network solutions.

This is a hybrid role with a three day a week requirement for onsite work.

• Develop network technology solutions, taking into account business and technical requirements, sizing, existing infrastructure, data protection, security requirements and governance and recovery objectives to ensure solutions resolve clients’ requirements and challenges
• Design and/or implement standard or custom technical solutions
• Participate in operational escalations to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
• Participate in implementation of network and system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
• Create relevant documentation as required (including but not limited to conceptual design, logical design, physical design, bill of materials, as-built diagrams, knowledge transfer materials, FAQs, transition to operations information)
• Participate in gathering data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
• Participate in recommending changes to improve systems and network configurations in client environments, and determine hardware or software requirements
• 5+ years of experience in an IT environment with network architecture design and deployment
• Experience with networking and security
• Experience working with Azure, Azure AI services, AWS, GCP and Chat GPT
• Ability to provide ongoing support, maintenance, and training on the implemented systems
• Ability to perform network assessments and design recommendations
• Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve network issues
• Understanding of:
  • -> Firewalls, IPS/IDS
  • -> TCP/IP, IPSEC Site to Site VPN, GRE, DMVPN, Client VPN, NAT, VRF technologies
  • -> Data Center technologies such as VPC, VDC, FcoE, FC, virtual switching
  • -> Cisco IOS and NXOS
  • -> Cisco Meraki
  • -> Layer 2 Technologies such as switching, VLAN, spanning tree
  • -> Layer 3 Routing protocols: MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
  • -> Software-defined Networking (SDN)
  • -> Wireless design and configuration
  • -> Network monitoring solutions
  • -> Cisco Voice/Call Manager
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) and/or related certification
