Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Network Cabling Technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot voice, video, and data networks, including complex cabling plants and secure voice/data systems. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and 3+ years of related experience.

The position involves supporting JWICS/NIPRNet/SIPRNet environments, configuring network hardware, and contributing to infrastructure diagrams with precise documentation. A CompTIA Security+ certification is required.

Qualifications

• Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, and 3+ years of experience.
• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI
• Certifications: Requires CompTIA Security+ Certification

Responsibilities

• Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
• Plant Cabling - Design, install, test, and configure telecommunications distribution systems including copper and fiber wiring, grounding, ducts, and distribution systems.
• After installation, annotate changes to plant cabling in infrastructure diagrams.
• Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems using testing tools and techniques.
• Installs and configures network hardware and software.
• Provides network troubleshooting and support.
• Maintains knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Information Systems Support - Support JWICS, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, NSANet, and Tier networks.
