Job summary

Flexential Corp. seeks a Principal Network Automation Architect to lead the architecture, engineering, and operation of a Python-based network automation platform behind the customer self-service portal.

This platform enables on-demand network services across a multi-vendor backbone, exposing APIs for L3VPN, DCI, IP Transit, and more. The role reports to the Vice President, Network Services and includes setting standards, design authority, and a multi-year roadmap, with potential for formal

Qualifications

10+ years of relevant technical experience including leading architect roles
Python service development with API-first design
Experience with network automation and multi-vendor environments
Strong leadership, mentoring, and design review capabilities
Experience with GitOps, CI/CD, and release engineering

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end architecture of the network automation platform as a production software product.
Design and evolve API-first contracts with secure authentication and authorization.
Lead platform security posture, change safety, and reliability across the automation estate.
Mentor engineers and drive technical design reviews across the team.
Coordinate with Product Management and Service Delivery to extend platform capabilities.
