Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Technical/Functional Expert (Network) to deliver advanced network engineering across enterprise environments. The role emphasizes system-level design, security architecture, and performance optimization in complex, multi-site infrastructures.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in network architecture and security, supports large datacenter environments, and ensures secure, reliable network operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; five additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering, including LAN architecture, monitoring, security, and protection.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPsec VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced network engineering support, including system-level design and architecture.
• Design and implement secure network architectures and enterprise security boundaries.
• Support datacenter virtualization and large-scale CAN/MAN/LAN environments.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement and manage IPSEC VPNs and secure communication channels.
• Analyze network traffic using packet capture tools for troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide expert-level support for network infrastructure issues.
• Develop system diagrams and present technical solutions to stakeholders.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance network operations.
