Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead design, deployment, and operation of high-performance network infrastructure across data center and cloud environments. The role requires up to 50% travel to support global deployments and initiatives.

You will partner with infrastructure, platform, and systems teams to drive network strategy at scale, own critical systems, and mentor junior engineers while shaping network architecture and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 8–10+ years of network engineering experience in large-scale environments (ISP, cloud, or similar).
• Deep expertise in network operations and production support at scale.
• Strong understanding of core networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6).
• Proven experience owning and operating critical network infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead through complex technical challenges.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and operation of large-scale network infrastructure across data center and cloud environments.
• Own critical network systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
• Drive architecture decisions across routing, switching, and overlay networking (VXLAN, EVPN).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-layer network issues impacting production systems.
• Develop and implement automation and tooling to improve reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
• Establish and evolve network design standards, best practices, and operational processes.
• Partner cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and elevate the overall technical capability of the team.
• Participate in an on-call rotation while reducing operational burden over time.
