Job summary

South Central College in North Mankato seeks an Information Technology Spec 3 – Network Administrator to lead college network design, security, and operations. You will implement secure network services, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with NIST 800-171 and Minnesota State policies.

The role requires 3+ years in IT, strong networking and VoIP knowledge, and experience with SIEM tools. Monday–Friday schedule; full-time, classified-unlimited, with extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years IT work experience with progressive experience in Microsoft Networks, Network Hardware and VoIP configurations.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment including NAT, VLAN, VPN, VoIP, and data encryption.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Working knowledge of WAN routing and firewall best practices; experience with IT security controls (NIST) and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain network equipment to provide secure and reliable services.
• Install and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, VoIP and other equipment per state and industry guidelines.
• Evaluate security configurations to support NIST 800-171 and Minnesota State requirements.
• Design network architecture and align with cybersecurity standards; conduct risk assessments.
• Monitor security and performance; maintain network documentation and procedures.
