Job summary

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) seeks a Senior Full Stack .NET Developer to support mission-critical applications spanning child welfare, healthcare, and statewide programs.

This hands-on role covers front-end, backend, APIs, SQL Server, SSRS, and CI/CD with Azure DevOps, requiring strong C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server skills to modernize legacy systems and deliver reliable, accessible software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience with C# and .NET technologies
• Strong SQL Server expertise including design, stored procedures, queries, optimization
• Experience creating and supporting SSRS reports and REST/SOAP services
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and remediation practices

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using C# and ASP.NET/.NET technologies
• Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and middleware
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot SSRS reports
• Maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, and queries
• Analyze and resolve complex production issues across multiple environments
• Support front-end updates and enhancements
• Modernize legacy applications and reduce technical debt
• Manage source control, deployments, and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps
• Ensure accessibility and security compliance
• Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, QA, and technical staff
