Job summary

Emergent Software is seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications on the Microsoft stack. You will steer core platform services, microservices, and shared libraries, while guiding downstream teams and governance.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while remaining actively involved in software development.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development with C# and .NET.
• Strong experience with modern .NET tech including ASP.NET Core.
• Experience building enterprise-scale applications in production.
• Proficient in SQL Server and Azure-based solutions.
• Background in microservices architectures.
• Experience maintaining shared libraries or platforms used by multiple apps.
• Strong architectural, design-pattern understanding and risk assessment capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, microservices, and shared platform components.
• Provide architectural leadership for core platform applications and shared NuGet packages consumed by multiple downstream systems.
• Evaluate the impact of platform changes across dependent applications and services.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to long-term platform strategy.
• Support release planning, change management activities, stakeholder communication, and deployment governance.
• Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions that support critical business operations.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code with a focus on performance, reliability, and long‑term supportability.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical planning sessions.
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements, deployment automation, and engineering best practices.
• Help strengthen backlog refinement, work definition, and Product Backlog Item (PBI) creation processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across interconnected enterprise systems.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on platform architecture, development practices, and solution design.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
