Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain advanced banking software within the SDLC.

You will work independently on enterprise applications using .NET, ASP.NET Core, Angular, and SQL Server, building REST APIs and modern web interfaces. The role emphasizes code quality, tests, review of PRs, and collaboration with multiple teams to align technology with business goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 5+ years’ systems analysis and/or application development or Bachelor’s with 3+ years’ experience.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Strong experience with .NET, ASP.NET Core, C#, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting RESTful APIs and modern web applications.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server; design, optimization, and query development.
• Experience building and executing automated unit and integration tests (xUnit, Moq, Jasmine, Karma).
• Experience with source control, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Work independently within the approved SDLC to design, develop, and implement applications.
• Develop and maintain enterprise apps using .NET, ASP.NET Core, Angular, SQL Server.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, responsive web apps, ETL solutions, and scalable databases.
• Review pull requests, provide feedback, and manage change requests.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable code and apply appropriate data structures and algorithms.
• Leverage Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices to improve delivery and operations.
• Create automated tests using xUnit, Moq, Jasmine, and Karma.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and communicate architecture.
