Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Software Engineer IV for a contract-to-hire role in Birmingham, AL. The position focuses on backend development using C# and .NET, building RESTful APIs, and microservices in an event-driven architecture with Kafka.

You will work in an Agile team, collaborating with offshore and junior developers, and provide technical guidance as needed. Heavy emphasis on backend work, with limited frontend development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET.
• Backend applications and APIs experience.
• Microservices architecture experience.
• Kafka/Confluent Kafka experience.
• Agile software development environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using C# and .NET.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
• Design and develop microservices-based applications.
• Develop event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions.
• Troubleshoot and maintain existing applications and services.
• Collaborate with Agile team members and offshore resources.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring as appropriate.
• Work with junior developers as needed.
