Job summary

Cognizant in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Senior/Lead .NET/AWS Developer with 10+ years of experience. You will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade applications using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and AWS services. Expect ownership from design through production, collaboration with business stakeholders, and a focus on performance and security.

The role emphasizes leadership, high-impact delivery, and mentoring junior developers within an onsite, long-term W2 contract.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software/application development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• ASP.NET Core Web APIs and REST services experience.
• AWS cloud application development and deployment experience.
• Solid SQL/RDBMS knowledge (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID, and design patterns.
• Experience with microservices and distributed architecture.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security.
• Git and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Strong debugging and performance-analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and Web APIs.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Develop and deploy cloud-based applications using AWS.
• Work with AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS/SNS.
• Design and optimize database solutions using SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
• Participate in application architecture, technical design, code reviews, and solution discussions.
• Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement performance improvements.
• Develop unit and integration tests and ensure adherence to development and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot development, testing, and production issues.
• Work with CI/CD processes and tools to automate application build and deployment.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, QA teams, DevOps teams, and other engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including estimation, sprint planning, design discussions, and retrospectives.
