Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a qualified NDT professional to join Department 341 Welding & NDT Engineering - Suppliers and Strategic Sourcing. You will lead on-site supplier evaluations, review NDT procedures, and guide corrective actions to ensure Navy standards are met.

The role requires Level III certification across MT, PT, VT, extensive NDT experience, and ability to attain additional certifications within a year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in NDT evaluation, audits, and supplier oversight.
• Current or prior Level III certs in MT, PT, VT per ASNT/NAS-410/NAVSEA.
• Provide documented evidence of training, OJT hours, and certs.
• Ability to obtain Level III certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to supplier development, qualification, and submittal of new NDT procedures.
• Review and approve supplier NDT procedures.
• Guide development of quality procedures for NDT program.
• Oversee and assess supplier NDT program performance.
• Advise on construction support, problem resolution and corrective actions for NDT by supplier.
• Maintain company standards and process improvements in NDT.
• Pass Level III certifications within 1 year.
• Review surveillances to ensure compliance with fabrication, welding, NAVSEA NDT specs.
• Interact with EB offices and NAVSEA as required.
• Prepare technical reports from findings during oversight and investigations.
