Job summary

Precise Systems seeks a Nondestructive (NDT) Evaluation Engineer Level III to support NSWC Carderock customers in experimental design and trade studies. This in-person role supports RDT&E activities with technical reviews on specifications, processes, material readiness, and producibility.

Required are a Bachelor’s in engineering, physics, or math, with advanced degrees substituting for experience. 7+ years in NDT&E and 2+ years in design processes are expected; security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics from an accredited college or university.
• Advanced engineering degree can substitute for one year of experience (Master’s = 1 year, PhD = 2 years).
• 7+ years of experience in NDT&E methods including multiple techniques.
• 2+ years in engineering/research design process for experimental design and trade-off studies.
• NDT certifications preferred (NAVSEA/ASNT) and familiarity with POD methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical review and consultation to RDT&E activities on adequacy of specifications, production processes, material availability, dimensioning and tolerance, design, producibility and inspectability, standardization and manufacturing cost control techniques.
