Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced NDT Engineer to lead UT inspections on composite flight hardware, including payload adapters and fairings. You will design inspection plans and implement PAUT techniques while supporting IR and DR modalities to verify part integrity for spaceflight hardware.

Ideal candidates hold ASNT Level II in UT, 6+ years in NDT, and familiarity with NAS410/AS9100. You will read blueprints and contribute to testing campaigns at our Rocket Park facilities.

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
• Typically 6+ years of relevant NDT engineering experience.
• ASNT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (Level III preferred).
• Knowledge of NAS410 and AS9100 quality standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic (UT) inspection of composite flight hardware—payload adapters and fairings—using pulse-echo, through-transmission, and phased array techniques.
• Provide infrared thermography (IRT) and digital radiography (DR) support to complement UT inspections.
• Interpret inspection data and disposition defects; participate in root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Own inspection design, development strategy, and tactical planning for new components.
• Support tool development, process improvements, and engineering documentation.
