Job summary

Kymera International in Chesapeake VA seeks a Quality and Safety Specialist to ensure NAVSEA 009-032/009-124 and OSHA shipyard compliance for surface preparation, coating, and thermal spray operations. You will enforce safety, conduct JHAs and risk assessments, and lead inspections with a focus on quality, traceability, and continuous improvement.

This role requires extensive knowledge of AMPP QP1/QP6 standards, documentation like OQE, NCRs, and CFRs, and strong collaboration with government

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NAVSEA 009-032 and 009-124 requirements.
• Experience with OSHA shipyard regulations and AMPP QP1/QP6 standards.
• Ability to lead inspections and audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure NAVSEA requirements, OSHA regulations, and AMPP QP1/QP6 compliance across shipboard operations.
• Oversee surface prep, coating, and thermal spray activities to contract specs without rework or delays.
• Lead inspections and audits using calibrated instruments; document results and maintain traceability.
• Mentor inspectors and production personnel on quality and safety practices.
• Coordinate with government representatives, customers, and auditors.
