Job summary

Kymera International seeks a seasoned Quality and Safety Specialist to ensure NAVSEA and OSHA compliance aboard shipboard operations in Chesapeake, VA, with significant travel. You will lead inspections, verify coating and surface prep, and mentor staff while maintaining strict safety practices and documentation.

You will drive continuous improvement, perform JHAs, coordinate audits, and manage OQE packages, NCRs, CFRs, and environmental records under QMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 7+ years coating inspection or related marine experience.
• Mastery of NAVSEA 009-032/009-124, OSHA shipyard regs, AMPP QP1/QP6.

Responsibilities

• Ensure NAVSEA/OSHA/AMPP compliance across shipboard operations.
• Oversee surface prep, coating, and thermal spray to spec.
• Lead inspections and audits with calibrated instruments.
• Prepare OQE packages, NCRs, CFRs with traceability.
• Mentor inspectors and production personnel on quality and safety.
