Kymera International - Thermal Spray Solutions in the United States seeks a Quality Coatings Inspector to support shipyard field service. Based in Chesapeake, VA with 75%+ travel to US and international job sites, the role requires NACE/AMPP/NBPI certification and strong coatings inspection experience.

The inspector will examine coatings, ensure compliance with MIL-STD and ISO quality standards, and document results while coordinating with safety and project teams.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Coating Inspector or similar role.
• Solid understanding of coating materials and application techniques.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and government quality requirements.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% (75%+ as stated).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and hazard identification.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections and use precision gauges and data loggers.
• Interpret military specifications and ISO standards (ISO 9001/AS9100D).
• Maintain/calibrate quality programs in accordance with relevant standards.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings to clients and team.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformances.
• Inspect surface preparation and coating application on structures/equipment.
