Job summary

GuideTech, a Palladyne AI subsidiary in the United States, seeks a Senior Navigation Engineer to design and implement advanced navigation and state estimation for autonomous systems operating in GPS-denied and contested environments.

You will lead algorithm development, simulation, testing, and field validation while collaborating with autonomy, perception, controls, and systems engineering teams, mentoring junior engineers and supporting deployment of mission-critical autonomy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience designing navigation, state estimation, and sensor fusion algorithms.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and real-time software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize navigation and state estimation algorithms (Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, SLAM).
• Develop multi-sensor navigation systems (GNSS, INS, IMUs, vision, LiDAR).
• Lead system-level architecture for navigation, localization, and PNT.
• Develop robust navigation for GPS-denied or contested environments.
• Collaborate with autonomy, controls, perception, and systems teams to optimize performance.
• Conduct simulation, modeling, and real-world testing to validate navigation.
• Analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, drive improvements.
• Contribute to requirements, interfaces, and system verification.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Support field testing and deployment of autonomous systems.
