Job summary

Heaviside Industries seeks a senior GNC engineer to lead navigation, guidance, and control for autonomous munitions. You will design trajectory shaping, implement multi-sensor fusion workflows, and validate algorithms through simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing at DoD ranges.

You will collaborate with software teams to port algorithms to real-time embedded code and mentor engineers across the GNC group. A strong background in Kalman filtering and 6-DOF development is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of GNC engineering experience in missiles, munitions, military UAS, or spacecraft.
• End-to-end ownership of a GNC subsystem from design to flight test.
• Deep Kalman filtering and multi-sensor fusion for degraded-GPS operation.
• Strong knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python for development and testing.

Responsibilities

• Architect guidance, navigation, and control systems for autonomous munitions in GPS-denied environments.
• Own terminal guidance law design and trajectory shaping concepts.
• Develop state estimation and navigation filters combining inertial, RF, and vision inputs.
• Create high-fidelity 6-DOF simulations and Monte Carlo analyses for performance verification.
• Work with software engineers to port algorithms to real-time embedded flight code.
• Mentor GNC engineers and lead flight test data analysis and anomaly investigations.
