Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC seeks a Senior Test & Evaluation Specialist to support USCG Waterways Commerce Cutter projects in Bayou La Batre, AL. You will oversee design, testing, and delivery of critical vessels, providing expert guidance on HM&E testing and coordinating with PRO and contractor teams.

The role requires five plus years in ship testing/evaluation, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication. Occasional local travel and onsite work at the Birdon shipyard facility are expected.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience testing and evaluating ship construction.
• Knowledge of ship construction and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, system diagrams, vendor drawings, calculations, test procedures/reports, manuals to ensure specification compliance and complete documentation.
• Witness testing procedures and participate in shipboard dockside and at-sea tests, observe performance and document deficiencies.
• Provide guidance to PRO coordinating and evaluating the contractor's HM&E testing program for contract performance requirements.
• Track deficiency records and processes (surveillance, test observation, CAR, etc.) and support status from creation to closure in the TSM system.
• Review the TEMP and validate data in shipbuilder reports; maintain ship data in PRO deficiency records.
• Prepare weekly Test reports and provide trial card status and lessons learned to improve schedules and cost.
• Assist PRO with creating new trial cards using ETC tool and maintain deployable network support for trials.
