Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Proficient with CAD, CAM, CATIA, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, NavisWorks and ORION/IFS to produce layouts and drawings.

We seek candidates with a High School Diploma or GED plus 7 years of experience, or an associates or similar 2-year technical degree with 3 years of experience. Relocation not offered; travel not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of experience.
• Associates degree or other 2-year technical degree in related discipline with 3 years experience.
• Nice to have knowledge in plate shaping, rolling and forming; build area workstations and material flow.

Responsibilities

• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups to ensure ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.
