Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Electronic Technician to support the US Navy in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves testing, troubleshooting, repairing complex PCBs and assemblies, and working from schematics and diagrams to ensure functional electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities include soldering fine-pitch components, interpreting wiring diagrams, and performing data collection for SPC. The candidate should have an AA degree and several years of electronics experience, with security clearance ability

Qualifications

  • AA Degree in related discipline and three years’ experience.
  • Six years of electronics experience preferred.
  • Formal military electronics training is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of electronic component identification and handling with ESD
  • Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards, IPC-7711 and J-STD-001 preferred.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, and modify surface mount and through‑hole assemblies.
  • Perform soldering/desoldering of fine pitch components including BGA work.
  • Interpret process routings and wiring diagrams for production planning.
  • Install cabinets, chassis, or equipment as needed.
  • Conduct informal checks prior to formal inspection and testing.
  • Collect and analyze data for SPC.
