Job summary

Duke Marine Technical Services Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced Naval Architect / Marine Engineer to lead complex engineering projects in a contractor setting.

The role involves supervising engineers and drafters, coordinating budgets, schedules, and technical development to meet customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a Naval Architect and Marine Engineering degree with 10+ years of direct industry experience and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Naval Architect and Marine Engineering degree or equivalent; minimum 10 years direct industry experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong communication and leadership to manage engineers and drafters.

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned engineering projects, including personnel, budget, schedule, and technical development.
• Supports Engineering Manager in preparing project estimating, tasks, budgets and schedules.
• Prepares and reviews drawings, specifications, analyses, and calculations to ensure conformance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Interacts with clients on a peer level and maintains effective communications throughout the organization.
• Oversees ship construction or ship repair projects and prepares recommendations for repair work.
