Job summary

SWCA, Incorporated seeks a Natural Resources Team Lead to oversee Minnesota/Dakotas operations, lead staff and projects, and drive client-focused solutions across the Upper Plains region. The role prioritizes leadership, budgeting, and regulatory expertise in a dynamic environmental practice.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years in natural resources with 4+ in environmental consulting, plus strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 6 years of progressively responsible natural resources/environmental science experience, including at least 4 years in environmental consulting.
• 3 years of natural resources project management experience with budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
• Experience with federal, state, and local environmental laws/regulations in Upper Plains/Midwest.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle screening and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Upper Plains Natural Resources Program and support execution of a regional strategy.
• Recruit and hire Natural Resources staff in partnership with the Office Director.
• Provide team support related to technical resources and regulatory updates.
• Promote safety compliance and reporting requirements.
• Evaluate regional market conditions and identify growth opportunities with clients.
• Lead go/no-go decisions and support efficient proposals in coordination with the Office Director.
• Foster a sell-doer culture through mentoring and business development initiatives.
• Build relationships with industry organizations and regulators to expand SWCA's presence.
