impact.com is the world’s leading commerce partnership marketing platform, located in Columbus, Ohio. This Database Administrator role focuses on near-real time processing of terabytes of data, administering and optimizing multiple database clusters, and scaling systems linearly as we grow.

You will partner with developers, ensure high availability, and explore the latest technologies while contributing to a strong, collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a math/CS field.
• 3+ years as a production DBA.
• 4+ years with MySQL/Percona Server and AWS/Aurora.
• 2+ years with PostgreSQL.
• 2+ years with ClickHouse.
• Experience with ProxySQL, Orchestrator, XtraBackup.
• 3+ years writing Linux shell scripts, Python, or Perl.
• HA MySQL/Percona experience.
• Experience handling very large data volumes (hundreds of TB to PB).
• Experience with SingleStore and MongoDB.
• Terraform and Puppet experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support multiple MySQL database clusters.
• Administer and support sharded MySQL clusters.
• Manage database capacity planning and usage.
• Query optimization.
• Monitor and optimize database performance.
• Develop backup and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with developers on schema design and data types.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and risks.
• Conduct benchmarking.
