Job summary

Education Through Music-Los Angeles seeks a Music Teacher Mentor II to plan and implement a standards-based music curriculum, mentor interns, and coordinate school-wide performances. The role emphasizes cultural responsiveness and collaboration with ETM-LA staff to enhance student learning across multiple sites in Los Angeles County.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s in music education, state certification, and multiple years of teaching and mentorship experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education or related field.
• State Teacher certification required.
• 5 years of primary or secondary classroom teaching experience.
• 2 years minimum of mentorship experience.
• California teaching certification preferred.
• Experience in vocal or instrumental performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a standards-based music curriculum per ETM-LA model.
• Produce two school-wide concerts with logistics (sound, lighting, staging).
• Mentor MT Interns and provide feedback to MTs.
• Maintain organized, print-rich and welcoming classroom.
• Engage with parents and school staff to support student learning.
