Job summary

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to join our Des Moines-area team. You will collaborate with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff on civil, municipal, and environmental projects.

The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, 10+ years of design experience, and Iowa PE license or progress toward one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 10+ years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Experience in roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution design desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities.
