Job Description

The Senior Municipal Credit Analyst will perform fundamental credit analysis on issuers in the municipal bond market, developing credit opinions, assigning internal ratings, and monitoring relevant developments.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Identify, assume, and manage credit risks while collaborating with investment team members.
• Analyze multiple sectors and issuers within the municipal bond market.
• Produce well-researched, concise reports for investment professionals.
• Maintain documentation in the database supporting internal credit opinions.
• Recommend changes to issuer-specific credit ratings and outlooks.
• Communicate credit opinions effectively with the investment team.
• Develop relationships with underwriters, research professionals, and industry organizations.
• Perform due diligence site visits and attend industry conferences.
• Mentor junior analysts.

Required Experience:

• 8-10 years of related work experience in fixed-income credit analysis, preferably in municipal credit analysis.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and/or CFA designation preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions under incomplete information.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
• Proficiency in Windows-based applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Bloomberg experience is a plus.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position in New York is $150,000 - $185,000 annually, including salary and incentive pay based on skills, experience, and location.

Workplace Model:

Employees are expected to work in the office at least three days a week, with two days working remotely.
